A Sorority Girl's Guide to Leaving a Legacy

Redeemed Girl Ministries is on a mission to see young women redeemed by the grace of Jesus Christ, transformed by His truth, and who live for the glory of His name. Our vision is to see a generation of sorority women that are using their collegiate years to leave a legacy for Jesus Christ in their chapter. 

Being in a sorority is about leaving a legacy for the next pledge class of sisters. Webster’s Dictionary defines a legacy as, “A thing handed down by a predecessor.” We want you to look back on our collegiate years and be able to say, “I made my chapter better. I made a difference and positively impacted my sisters’ lives.” Take a minute to think about who in your life has influenced you the most. We all know someone whose influence left a mark on our lives. It could be a teacher, a friend, or even your Big Sister. Now think about the impact and influence you are leaving behind in your sorority house. Do those around you see the love and light of Jesus in you? Are you leaving a legacy of young women who desire to live for God? As a follower of Jesus, the most loving thing you can do for your sisters is to show them the hope that is found in a relationship with Him.

Your time on earth is short and your years as a sorority woman are even shorter. You have four brief years to positively influence your sisters’ lives with the good news of Jesus Christ. It is so important to understand that YOU can impact eternity! You can make a difference in your sister’s life by offering her the eternal hope, love, and new life that comes from knowing Jesus personally. In her book Radiant, Marian Jordan writes, “When we keep in mind the amazing grace poured out on us, our hearts are stirred to share God’s grace with others.” Redeemed Girl hopes that you will embrace this calling to a higher purpose for your life. We are here as a resource and as your friend, to equip you to lead your sisters out of the darkness of sin and into the light of a life with Jesus.
